Well, here it is, Wednesday afternoon in Bulgaria and we still have not received our court date. Legally, the judge has 2 weeks after submission to give out a date. That deadline is tomorrow. We will see what tomorrow brings.
It's frustrating because other adoptive families get their date within a couple of days. And typically that date is very shortly after the day it is assigned. But for my friend, Renae, and I.... We are apparently are anything but typical! Darn but for the first time in my life "I WANT TO BE NORMAL!!!!"
Oh, Kelly I am so sorry. It can be so discouraging, especially with other families receiving their court dates so quickly. But if tomorrow is the deadline, then you should hear something by tomorrow right? I'm praying for you girl!

I was just telling my hubby, "is it too much to ask to just be in the NORM for once??" Apparently, yes..it is... And I think they're supposed to set the court date for about two weeks out, or sooner...mine's a MONTH..Kay says he's giving us extra time to do the paperwork he requested...how THOUGHTFUL of him...but I really don't need it:)...two weeks would have been fine...now I'm hoping he'll move it up if we get our papers to Bulgaria sometime next week...
ReplyDeleteAhhh, who wants to be normal? It's over rated, lol...This adoption is so a "edge of your seat" one! Bitting my nails here, waiting & praying with you :P ((Hugs girl!))
ReplyDeleteAt least tomorrow you'll have good news?! Sorry, trying to find an upside. You are going to flip your lid when you FINALLY get a date though ;)
ReplyDeleteStill praying for you. How frustrating! I do believe it was Mother Theresa who said once, "I wish God didn't trust me so much at times".
ReplyDeleteJust know we are all still praying. I have no idea why it would take so long- when you just want to be there (yesterday- well let's be honest- a LONG TIME AGO). Praying that you will get your date and you will fly soon!!! So sorry. Feels helpless because I just want your daughters to get to see their family and feel the thrill of being HOME!!!!
ReplyDeleteCan you email me? I'm almost certain one of your daughters is in the same orphanage as our son. ajsantor@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI decided to post my "sisterly advice" from our conversation earlier. Remember, either you have faith in God or you don't. Either God is sovereign or He is not. You have no idea why your adoption process is taking longer than everyone else's, but if you are trusting God with anything, you have to trust Him with everything and you have to trust that He has a reason...and His reasons are better than yours! He loves you. He loves Yana and Tavi. And not only does He WANT what is best for you, He KNOWS what is best for you and WILL GIVE YOU what is best for you. But sometimes that means wait. Just imagine how sweet it will all be in the end because He is taking this time to put every detail in order for you and your family. Praise God for his attention to detail! ;)
